Halloween is taking over Edmonton this fall with terrifying haunted houses, glowing pumpkin displays, ghost tours, live music and family-friendly autumn fun. Whether you're looking for a serious scare or a Halloween outing with the kids, there are plenty of ways to celebrate throughout September and October.

From September's first pumpkin displays and haunted houses through the big Halloween weekend, Edmonton offers something for every level of Halloween enthusiasm.

Deadmonton Haunted House

For those who like their Halloween very scary, Deadmonton Haunted House is one of Edmonton's signature attractions. The 2026 season runs September 25 through November 7, featuring three haunted attractions and special events throughout the season.

Recommended for ages 12+

Special events include Date Night on October 2 and the especially intense Lights Out experience November 6–7.

Pumpkins After Dark

For something magical rather than frightening, Pumpkins After Dark returns to Edmonton with thousands of hand-carved pumpkins illuminated throughout Borden Park.

The family-friendly walk-through features elaborate displays, live pumpkin carving, entertainment and seasonal treats — making it a great choice for families, couples and anyone who loves Halloween without the jump scares.

DARK at Fort Edmonton Park

Fort Edmonton Park gets a sinister makeover for DARK, Edmonton's Halloween festival. This year's event features three returning haunts, a brand-new haunt, two scare zones, spooky entertainment, local food and music.

Haunts: 7–11 p.m.
Recommended for ages 14+

Costumes are not permitted at DARK for safety and guest comfort.

Edmonton Ghost Tours

Explore Edmonton after dark and hear some of the city's strangest stories with Edmonton Ghost Tours. Tours meet near the Rescue Statue beside the Walterdale Theatre and explore local history, legends and reported hauntings.

The Halloween schedule runs throughout October, including October 5–31, with tours beginning at 7 p.m.

SCREAM 2026

If your idea of Halloween involves costumes, dancing and electronic music, SCREAM 2026 takes over the Edmonton EXPO Centre for two nights.

The event features multiple stages and a major electronic lineup, including Tiësto, Alesso, Chase & Status and Sara Landry, along with performers, dancers and immersive theatrical installations.
